27/4/2026 0 Comments #6 Tommy Emmanuel - Classical GasTommy Emmanuel is one of my all time favourite guitarists, turning everything he touches to gold! He is a master of fingerstyle guitar, particularly Travis picking, where the right hand thumb alternates between bass notes while a tune is played on top. Tommy also often adds in harmonies and percussion too.

Jack DaviesAs I wondered the streets near my old home in Birmingham I always loved reading the 'Dad Joke of the Week' which someone wrote on a whiteboard outside their house. It was such a good idea! So I thought I'd do the same, but with a guitar-related theme - thus, 'Guitar Song of the Week', which has now begun! As the name suggests, each week I'll put up one of my favourite guitar tunes - it could be classical, blues, metal, anything, but will be by more underground/lesser known artists, and will always be something I think is worth hearing. I'll update this blog with each track, and add my thoughts on each. Suggestions are very much welcome (a suggestion box is coming soon). Archives
